The Nikie occurrence is located near the headwaters of Lahte Creek about 18 kilometres northeast of Alice Arm.

The region is underlain by Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group volcanics and sediments situated on the east limb of the north-northwest trending Mount McGuire anticline. These rocks have been regionally metamorphosed to greenschist facies.

The showing is hosted in andesitic volcanic rocks consisting of lapilli tuffs and agglomerates and located on a bench northwest of a main glacier. The showing consists of quartz veins up to 20 centimetres wide with chalcopyrite, malachite, native copper and visible gold. The veins occur within and paralleling dacitic to rhyolitic dikes. In 1996, a grab sample (331641) analysed 57.7 grams per tonne gold, 20.2 grams per tonne silver and 8.6 per cent copper (Assessment Report 24747).

In 1996, exploration on behalf of Camnor Resources Ltd. consisted of helicopter stream sediment silt sampling, followed by prospecting, rough geological mapping and rock sampling of anomalies. In 2005, Kitsault Resources Ltd. completed a reconnaissance stream sediment survey on the area as the Kitsault Gold property.
